Decosimo Announces Several Promotions and Certifications
Decosimo recently announced the promotion of several staff members: Shelton Swafford Chambers and Sarah Denton to tax managers in the Chattanooga, Tenn., office; Kimberly Johnson to senior accountant in the Chattanooga office; Matt Wallace to senior accountant in the Nashville, Tenn. Office; Lauren Moore to senior accountant in the Memphis, Tenn., office; Jonas Russell to senior accountant in the Cincinnati, Ohio, office; Owen McLaughlin to senior accountant in the firm’s Cayman Island office.
The public accounting and advisory firm also announced that Pam Mantone, FCPA, CFE, CITP, CGMA recently received her master analyst in financial forensics certification and Bill Acuff, CPA, CGMA, CFF, CFE and Daniel Barber, CPA have earned the Certified Internal Auditor designation.
Virginia Chamber of Commerce Elects New Chairman
The Virginia Chamber of Commerce recently elected Gary Thomson, CPA as its new Chairman. Thomson currently serves as a leader at Dixon Hughes Goodman. In his new role as Chairman, Thomson will oversee the Chamber’s economic development strategy, Blueprint Virginia, which is a collaboration of more than 300 organizations and 7000 participants who have developed a business plan and roadmap for economic competitiveness. The Chamber consists of more than 15,000 members and serves and an advocate to the business community.
Crawford Restructures Human Resources Department
Crawford & Company announced a number of executive and structural changes within its Human Resources department, following the election of Phyllis Austin as the company's executive vice president of Global Human Resource Management. Bonnie Sawdey, currently vice president for corporate benefits has been named the senior human resources executive for Crawford’s third-party administrator of workers compensation claims, liability claims and medical management services. Debra O'Donnell has been named vice president of human resources for the Americas. Pauline Holroyd has been named vice president of human resources for Crawford's Europe, Middle-East, Africa and Asia-Pacific operations. Douglas Dell has been named vice president of Crawford Educational Services in Atlanta.
Weaver Merges with RIN Attest and Advisory Services
Weaver recently merged with RIN Attest and Advisory Services and named David Bennett, CPA, CFE, CFF, CITP, RIA, as a partner in its Energy Compliance Services practice. Bennett founded RIN Attest and Advisory Services, which specializes in attestations required under the Renewable Fuel Standard regulations, as well as renewable energy business intelligence solutions. Bennett has more than 20 years of experience in public accounting, renewable energy and corporate finance, working with more than 100 companies in the renewable fuel industry.
Henderson Hutcherson & McCullough, PLLC Adds New Accountants
Henderson Hutcherson & McCullough, PLLC recently added Matthew Vischetti as staff accountant and Alan King as supervisor accountant. Both will provide planning, preparing and consulting accounting and tax services to clients. Vischetti received his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and currently pursuing his master’s degree of business administration.
King received his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and his master’s degree of accountancy from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
Scott and Company CPAs Names New Auditor
Scott and Company LLC recently announced the addition of Casey Gilbert as a Staff Auditor. Gilbert is currently an intern, providing support to partners and staff for the preparation and proofing of financial statements, audit support and tax returns. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting at the University of South Carolina’s Moore School of Business.

Pannell Kerr Forster of Texas, P.C. recently promoted Hanh Duong, CPA and Daniel Travis, CPA to Tax Senior Manager. Duong’s experience includes working with high net worth individuals, family owned businesses, middle market enterprises, domestic entities and inbound corporations in the energy, technology, manufacturing, retail, wholesale distribution and professional services industries.
Travis specializes in federal and state taxation in the oil and gas industry. His experience includes working with multi-tier partnership entities, corporate enterprise clients and international clients seeking to enter the U.S. market.
Armanino Names New Partners
Armanino LLP has named Theresa Brown, Ricardo Martinez and Jeremy Sucharski as partners of the firm. Brown has more than 25 years of management consulting and leadership experience and 15 years of controller/accounting management experience. She specializes in helping the CFO organization find comprehensive solutions to the challenges they face. In addition, she has extensive experience implementing Microsoft Dynamics GP.
Martinez has more than 15 years of experience conducting audit and advisory services, working with companies such as iPass, Wireless Facilities, Inc. Alien Technology Corp. and Delta Dental of California. He also serves on Armanino's Technical Committee, which oversees the firm's technical accounting and auditing practices.
Sucharski’s more than 12 years of experience includes delivering financial and IT assurance services to software, manufacturing and consumer packaged goods clients, such as Veeva Systems, Marketo, Delta Dental and SuccessFactors. Sucharski currently serves as the Governance, Risk and Compliance practice leader, where he helps the team balance the cost compliance with the value it adds to a client's organization.
Marcum LLP Names New Practice Leader
Marcum LLP recently selected Bradford Taylor to be the National Valuation Practice Leader. Taylor is an Accredited Senior Appraiser and Certified Valuation Analyst with extensive experience in valuating business enterprises, intangible assets and common and preferred equity. He holds an MBA from F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College and a B.A. in history from Tufts University.
